About Jesus Says
Jesus Says makes Jesus Says: Daily Reflection, an iPhone and iPad app for a small daily practice with Scripture: a King James verse for today, read aloud, a prayer, and an honest reflection in your own words. This website is the app’s home and publishes a small Faith Library of free, Scripture-based guides.
What the app does
- Today: a King James verse for today and two more passages, chosen for twenty-two ways your heart can be (more than eight hundred passages). Each is read aloud from a recording made with a generated voice, and works offline. Pray the verse back to God in silence, or in your own words by voice or text, and receive Scripture, a short reflection, and a prayer.
- Chat: start from a topic or ask your own question by voice or text; every answer comes back to the Bible.
- Bible: the full King James Bible, offline, opening where you left off, with a book and chapter picker, search and saved verses.
- Explore: Walk with Elijah, a seven-day painted Bible-story retelling with linked Scripture; Be Still quiet moments (Still Waters, Peace Be Still, Consider the Heavens); the Peace Garden; a private Journal; devotion paths and Journeys.
Reflections and prayers in the app are generated from Scripture. They are not reviewed by clergy or religious authorities, and the app is not a replacement for church, pastoral care, counseling, medical care, or emergency help. See About the app for screenshots and pricing, or try Still Waters in your browser.
Editorial standards for the Faith Library
The Faith Library is deliberately small. We would rather keep a few dozen careful guides than publish hundreds of thin ones. Every guide follows these standards:
- Scripture first, quoted exactly. Quotations come from the King James Version, the same translation used in the app’s Bible reader, and are checked against the text. We try to read every verse in its context and say so when a popular verse is often misapplied.
- Answer the real question. Each guide opens with a plain answer, then offers Scripture, a way to pray, and honest answers to common questions.
- Care before content. Guides on depression, grief, anxiety, addiction, illness, and relationships include crisis and care resources. Nothing here is medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, and forgiveness never means staying somewhere unsafe.
- Respect across traditions. We write for Christians from many churches, Protestant and Catholic, and avoid settling denominational questions for you.
- Honest about ourselves. Comparison pages are written by the makers of one of the apps compared. We aim to be fair, say where another app is the better fit, and check competitors’ details against their official pages.
- How guides are made. Guides are drafted and revised by the Jesus Says team with the help of AI writing tools. A script checks every Scripture quotation against the King James text, and a person on the team reads and approves each guide before it is published or updated. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. Read how the guides are written.
