These Terms of Use ("Terms", "Terms of Use") govern your relationship with the Bible: Daily Prayer & Verse mobile application ("Service", "App") operated by the makers of Bible: Daily Prayer & Verse ("us", "we", or "our").

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using our Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these terms, then you may not access the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the "Bible: Daily Prayer & Verse" mobile application ("App"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

Bible: Daily Prayer & Verse is a mobile application that provides Bible verse suggestions and spiritual guidance based on user conversations. The App uses Google Gemini generative technology to analyze conversations and suggest relevant Bible references.

The Service allows you to:

• Talk to Jesus — speak or type reflections; the App transcribes your voice using Apple's Speech Recognition service (on-device or via Apple's servers depending on your device and language settings) and returns Bible-based spiritual guidance
• Personal Reflection — speak or type private reflections (spoken input is transcribed via Apple's Speech Recognition service) and receive a three-card Bible-grounded spiritual response
• Devotion Journey — follow a 7-day calendar-based devotion plan with daily voice check-ins (transcribed via Apple's Speech Recognition service), personalized Scripture-grounded responses, and streak tracking
• Mercy Timeline (when available, Plus) — generated analysis of your Personal Reflection and Devotion Journey transcripts over time, surfacing recurring themes, spiritual tone shifts, and released burdens
• Listen Mode — listen to Daily Practice content through local text-to-speech on your device; playback audio is not transmitted to our servers
• Verse Library — save scripture references stored locally through iOS Keychain, with iCloud Keychain sync controlled by your Apple device settings
• Unified Journal — view all your Personal Reflection and Devotion Journey entries in a calendar-based journal, stored locally on your device
• Chapel — choose a bundled painted or moving view for Today and a day or evening light without a Plus subscription. Your selection stays in local device preferences and is cleared on sign-out or account/session deletion. The App uses a still image when reduced motion is enabled or the device is not on Wi-Fi or Ethernet
• Be Still — explore Scripture-grounded experiences, including Still Waters, Peace, Be Still, and Consider the Heavens. These experiences run on your device without sending your interactions to the response-generation service
• Walk With — follow a seven-day painted retelling of Elijah’s story, read the related Bible passages, and choose, type or speak story replies. Typed or transcribed replies may be processed by Google Gemini through our backend
• Small Steps and Peace Garden — name a sparrow companion, take daily steps, earn seeds through practice, and choose plants in the illustrated Seed Shed. Seeds are earned in the App and are not sold for money or redeemable for cash
• Subscribe to Plus plans for extended guided access to all premium features

3. Generated Content Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: Generated Content

• The App uses Google Gemini generative technology to generate Bible reference suggestions and spiritual guidance.
• All responses are generated and are NOT reviewed, approved, or endorsed by any religious authority, church, or spiritual leader.
• The generated content is provided for informational and inspirational purposes only.
• The Developer/Company is NOT responsible for the accuracy, appropriateness, or theological correctness of any generated responses.
• Users should NOT rely solely on generated content for spiritual guidance, religious decisions, or theological interpretation.
• The App is NOT a substitute for professional religious counseling, pastoral care, or church services.
• Generative technology may produce errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate content.
• You should verify any Bible references or religious content through your own study and consultation with religious authorities.

Bible Story Retellings

Walk With stories are retellings for reflection, not the words of Scripture or a claim to speak for a biblical figure. Read the linked Bible passages for the words of Scripture. Generated story replies may contain errors and are not a substitute for pastoral care or emergency help.

3.1 Mercy Timeline — Spiritual Reflection, Not Clinical Assessment

Mercy Timeline is disabled in the default 2.2.1 release. The following terms apply only if the feature is made available and enabled.

The "Mercy Timeline" feature (available to Plus subscribers with 10 or more qualifying spoken reflections of at least approximately 20 words each) analyzes your spoken reflections across weeks or months to surface recurring themes, notable shifts in spiritual tone, and what seems released. This analysis is provided for spiritual reflection and personal insight only.

Important disclaimers:

• Mercy Timeline is NOT a clinical assessment tool and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or clinical evaluation of any condition
• Mercy Timeline is NOT a substitute for professional clinical care, pastoral counseling, licensed counseling, or psychiatric evaluation
• The generated analysis reflects patterns in your own words and your spiritual journey — it is not reviewed by licensed clinical professionals
• You should NOT use Mercy Timeline results to make medical, clinical, or crisis decisions
• If you need professional support or crisis help, please contact a licensed professional or crisis service (see §18)

By using Mercy Timeline, you acknowledge that it is a spiritual reflection tool only and that you will not rely on it for clinical care.

4. Not a Replacement for Church Services

The App is NOT intended to replace:

• Regular church attendance
• Personal Bible study
• Pastoral counseling
• Religious education
• Community worship
• Professional spiritual guidance

The App is designed as a supplementary tool for inspiration and reflection, not as a replacement for traditional religious practices and community involvement.

5. User Accounts and Registration

5.1 No Registration Required for Core Features

You may use the Service without manually signing in with Apple or creating a traditional profile. Core features, including generated conversations, in-app Bible reading, Personal Reflection, and Devotion Journey, are available after you accept these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

For service operation, security, fraud prevention, and usage controls, the App may automatically create an anonymous Firebase Authentication account when you start using the Service. This anonymous account is identified by a Firebase-generated UID and does not require you to provide your real name or personal email address.

5.2 Optional Sign In with Apple

Sign in with Apple is optional. If you choose to sign in with Apple, your account will be linked to your Apple ID. This can help preserve your app account and operational devotion state across reinstalls or supported devices. It does not upload or back up your device-only journal, transcripts or Walk With history. Saved verses may sync separately through your own iCloud Keychain settings. Manual Sign in with Apple is not required to start a trial, purchase Plus, or use eligible paid entitlement.

5.3 Account Responsibility

If you use an account, whether through Sign in with Apple or an anonymous Firebase account, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

5.4 Account Deletion

All signed-in users — including anonymous Firebase accounts created automatically on first use — may request permanent deletion of their session and associated data. Use Profile → Manage My Data → Delete Session & Data (anonymous users) or Profile → Manage My Data → Delete Account (Apple-linked users). When the request succeeds, your Firebase authentication record is removed and the App clears local personal data. Our backend then attempts to remove associated purchase records, devotion progress and usage quotas. If a storage service is unavailable, some backend cleanup may remain incomplete even after the account is deleted. Contact jesussays889@gmail.com to request completion. A minimal deletion marker is retained to prevent later subscription events from recreating the deleted account. Deleting your app account does not cancel an App Store subscription.

5.5 Account Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms.

6. In-App Purchases and Guided Access

6.1 Guided Access and Usage Controls

• The current App experience is subscription-first for supported app versions
• Your first successful reflection comes before any subscription purchase prompt. Free guided-reply allowances may apply and are shown in the App; Plus extends guided access. The bundled Bible and Be Still experiences remain available without a Plus subscription
• Any eligible introductory offer, its duration, price and subscription period are displayed on the purchase screen. An App Store trial begins at purchase confirmation, not at installation or your first reflection
• Plus subscribers receive guided access through their active subscription entitlement. Plus includes up to 50 guided replies per day and 300 per calendar month (counted in UTC) across all guided features, so the Service stays available to everyone; the bundled Bible stays available after a limit is reached

6.2 In-App Purchases

• Plus Monthly and Plus Annual: Recurring subscriptions for guided access. An introductory offer may be available if you are eligible; after any free trial each plan auto-renews at the price displayed on the in-app purchase screen until you cancel
• All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. If Apple confirms an eligible free trial, the first subscription charge is due when that trial ends; otherwise Apple charges your Apple ID at purchase confirmation
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price disclosed on the purchase screen. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS
• Purchases are final and non-refundable (subject to Apple's refund policy)
• Prices are subject to change. Apple will notify you of any price increases according to App Store rules; you may decline by cancelling before the next renewal
• Subscription entitlements are tied to your App Store account and can be restored through the App's Restore Purchases flow. RevenueCat manages receipt transfers and our backend reconciles the current app account’s entitlement from RevenueCat. Restoration follows the Apple Account used for App Store purchases, which can differ from the account used for optional Sign in with Apple. Restore Purchases is available in Profile for non-premium users without opening the paywall
• If you cancel a subscription, Apple generally keeps the subscription active until the end of the already-paid period. The App may continue to show Plus access until that period expires, subject to Apple's billing status. Billing retry or grace-period states may temporarily keep access active while Apple resolves payment status
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings. Active subscribers can open Subscription Support in Profile for RevenueCat Customer Center, with Apple’s subscription page as a fallback

6.3 Refunds

Refund requests must be made through Apple's App Store in accordance with Apple's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

7. User Conduct and Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the Service:

• To replace professional religious counseling or pastoral care
• To make important life decisions without consulting appropriate advisors
• To spread misinformation or misinterpret religious content
• For any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• To violate any laws in your jurisdiction
• To harass, abuse, or harm other users
• To transmit any viruses, malware, or harmful code
• To attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• To interfere with or disrupt the Service
• To use automated systems to access the Service

8. Intellectual Property Rights

8.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Bible: Daily Prayer & Verse and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Generated Content

All generated content, including Bible verse suggestions and spiritual guidance, is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works
• Use for commercial purposes
• Claim ownership of generated content

8.3 Bible Text

Bible passage text displayed in the current App is taken from the English King James Version (KJV) Bible content bundled with the App. The App uses generated-response technology to suggest references, but the verse text displayed in the reader and response surfaces comes from the App's bundled Bible asset rather than model-authored verse quotations. Reference numbering may follow the specific local KJV asset shipped with the App. The display of full passage text is for your convenience and does not constitute theological endorsement.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini: For generating Bible verse suggestions and spiritual guidance. A small whitelisted session-metadata bundle is sent alongside your transcript as described in our Privacy Policy §5.1
• Firebase (Google): For backend services, anonymous authentication, optional Apple-linked authentication, abuse prevention, and account-related data storage
• Apple Sign In (optional): For optional user authentication and cross-device data continuity. Not required to start a trial, purchase Plus, or use eligible paid entitlement
• Apple App Store: For in-app purchases
• HeyCatch: For screen and app-action analytics through the PostHog SDK. Guest activity uses an anonymous SDK identifier; activity after Apple sign-in is linked to the Firebase account identifier. Voice recordings, transcripts, reflection/prayer/conversation text, crisis events, and onboarding goal, faith-stage and focus-area answers are excluded. See Privacy Policy §5.7 for details and deletion requests
• RevenueCat: For subscription event processing and entitlement management. RevenueCat receives server-to-server subscription lifecycle events from Apple and forwards them to our backend to keep your entitlement status up to date. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at rev.cat/privacy

By using the App, you acknowledge that:

• Your data may be processed by these third-party services
• These services have their own terms of service and privacy policies
• We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services

9.1 Transcript Data and Mercy Timeline Analysis

When the Mercy Timeline feature is enabled, transcripts from your Personal Reflection and Devotion Journey sessions are stored securely on your device (iOS Keychain encryption) and periodically transmitted to Google Gemini in batches for pattern analysis (at most once per 24 hours).

What this means for your data:

• Transcripts are stored locally in encrypted storage on your device (iOS Keychain), not on our backend servers. Personal Reflection and Devotion Journey entries are stored in a unified journal store (journal_entries_device_v2 Keychain key). If you previously used an older version of the App, your existing entries are automatically migrated to the unified store at startup
• Raw voice transcripts are stored with iCloud Keychain sync disabled and remain on the current device. Journal entries, including response cards and your words, remain on the current device with iCloud Keychain sync disabled
• For Mercy Timeline analysis, transcripts are transmitted to Google Gemini as a batch. Google processes this data according to their own privacy policy (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google may retain transmitted transcripts according to their policy. We have no control over Google's retention or use of that data
• We do not retain raw transcripts on our own backend servers after the analysis call completes
• Analysis results (patterns, themes, tone shifts) are cached on your device only

Your control:

• You may disable Mercy Timeline at any time in Profile → Manage My Data, which prevents future batch transmissions, deletes cached analysis, and hides the Timeline card
• Saved Scripture may sync through iCloud Keychain; journal entries and raw transcripts remain on the current device. Local data may be lost if the device is replaced or reset without a backup
• You may delete individual transcripts or all transcripts independently of your reflection cards via Profile → Manage My Data → Clear Transcript Data
• Deleting transcripts does not delete your reflection history or spiritual progress
• Once transcripts have been transmitted to Google, we cannot delete Google's copy. If you have concerns about a specific reflection, delete its transcript before the next 24-hour analysis window

By using Mercy Timeline, you consent to the retention of transcripts on your device and the periodic transmission of transcripts to Google Gemini for pattern analysis, subject to Google's privacy policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• The Developer/Company shall NOT be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.
• The Developer/Company is NOT responsible for any decisions made based on generated content.
• The Developer/Company does NOT guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any generated responses.
• The Developer/Company is NOT liable for any spiritual, emotional, or religious consequences resulting from the use of generated content.
• The Developer/Company is NOT responsible for any loss of data, Reflections, or purchases.
• The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• The accuracy, reliability, or completeness of generated content
• The uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
• The security of your data or information
• The compatibility of the Service with your device

12. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• How you interpret and use generated content
• Consulting with qualified religious leaders, pastors, or spiritual advisors for important religious decisions
• Verifying any Bible verses or religious content through your own study
• Your use of the Service and any consequences thereof
• Maintaining the security of your account

13. Privacy and Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Service, to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your information.

14. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Terms of Use on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Notifying you through the App (if applicable)

Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Use.

15. Termination

15.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the App from your device. Please note that deleting the App does not delete your account or backend data stored on our servers, including anonymous Firebase account records, purchase records, or devotion progress.

To request permanent deletion of your session and associated backend data:

• Anonymous users: use Profile → Manage My Data → Delete Session & Data in the App's settings panel
• Apple-linked users: use Profile → Manage My Data → Delete Account in the App's settings panel
• Either type: contact us at jesussays889@gmail.com with the subject "Delete My Account" (processed within 30 days)

Account deletion is available in the app regardless of whether you signed in with Apple. The authentication record is removed before backend data cleanup; the limitations and support path in §5.4 also apply here.

15.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for:

• Any breach of these Terms of Use
• Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• Violation of any applicable laws
• Any other reason we deem necessary

16. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If you are located outside the United States, you are responsible for compliance with local laws in your jurisdiction.

17. Additional Rights for EU/EEA and California Users

EU/EEA Users (GDPR): If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under GDPR: (a) access your personal data; (b) request correction or deletion of your personal data; (c) data portability; (d) restriction of processing; and (e) lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The legal bases for processing your data are your consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — including consent for Mercy Timeline batch transmission where applicable — and our legitimate interest in providing the Service (Article 6(1)(f)). You may withdraw consent for Mercy Timeline batch transmission at any time by disabling the feature in the App's Profile without affecting your use of core app features.

California Users (CCPA): If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect about you, including voice transcripts and generated patterns if Mercy Timeline is enabled; (b) request deletion of your personal information, including transcripts stored on your device; and (c) opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. You may exercise these rights by contacting jesussays889@gmail.com or using the data controls in the App's Profile.

Bible: Daily Prayer & Verse is a spiritual guidance app and is not a substitute for professional clinical care, crisis intervention, or emergency services. If you or someone you know needs immediate crisis support, please contact a professional resource immediately:

• Emergency Services: Call 911 (US) or your local emergency number

The App's generated responses are not reviewed by licensed clinical professionals and should never be used as a replacement for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

19. Dispute Resolution

19.1 Informal Resolution

If you have any dispute with us, you agree to first contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

19.2 Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you agree to resolve any dispute through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

Walk With data (when available)

Walk With stores your sparrow name, garden and story progress, choices and saved replies in device-only encrypted storage. Sending your own words requests processing through our service by Google Gemini. Story text is written in advance; generated replies are labeled. Sign-out or session/account deletion clears local Walk data. Availability depends on the features enabled in your version.
